Loud ‘N’ Proud #2 (East Germany) 1990. Editor: “Andreas Schoewe” (auf Deutsch)
Second issue of this East German zine [“Das Erste Hard Rock und Heavy Metal Journal der DDR”] – this time a bit more even and coming into form – [again, I was told that this was the first hard rock/metal zine to come from the former East Germany (Rostock-Deutsche Demokratische Republik or DDR/GDR) prior to reunification]. Once more, a great window into the German metal/Hard Rock scene in the late 1980s/early 1990 with a live review of Black Sabbath and Running Wild, interviews and features with Headless, Holy Moses, Majk Mati, Mania, Treat, Viper, Mordred, Sabbat, Risk, Rosa Rock, Scanner, a Bon Scott tribute, a Heavy Metal against AIDS feature, plus album reviews and a Sodom lyrics thing and a Tankard pic I have not seen before. (Thanks to N. Barsch for sharing).
Battlefield #5 (GER) 1985. Editor: “Markus Zimmerman” (auf Deutsch)

Death Speaks #1 (Yugoslavia) 1985. Editor: “Boštjan Jurečič“
From the former Yugoslavia, mid-80s extremity in all its tattered glory (this appears to have originated from the Dark Legions archive by the way). Features and interviews with At War, Kreator, Hirax, Iron Angel, Tankard, Viper (France), a Yugoslavian scene report and a tiny bit more. PDF up in the download section.
Totentanz #2 (Germany) 1988 (auf Deutsch) Editor: “Arno Brettraeger” (+Mitarbeiter: Thomas Hanzen)
A nice one from Germany (thanks much to B.B. for this great classic from the late 80’s!). If you can read German, you are in luck, if not, still some great content..check out the early Nuclear Blast ad for example, back when the label was punk (!) Features/interviews with the likes of Assassin, At War, Coroner, Deathrow, Solitude, Living Death, Revelation, Rage, Poltergeist, Tanakard, Voivod, and much more…
